In Memory of Ronnie G
by Bill Leggett
I first met Ronnie Gaubert at Lake Martin about ten years ago while attempting to shoot bird images with my outdated equipment, and since then we had run into each other there and a few other places on numerous occasions in south Louisiana. Ronnie was a kind, witty and generous friend, had always been, and to this day still is, a true inspiration to me as a photographer, and a true salt of the earth Cajun, to boot.
Shot this morning at Lake Martin. This stately little cypress stands out by itself off the point of the boat launch. For a few brief minutes just after sunrise the scene was bathed in warm morning sun, but soon after the sweet light went away.
