Fall Lines

Sorry, Stan, for the cheesy title. I hate thinking of titles, so it's better than untitled number xxx. I had a blast shooting this fall and this was my first morning of shooting. The colors in the Maroon Creek Valley were just amazing and maybe even a bit overwhelming. Glad I got there before the winter storm came by and killed the color.

I normally don't post larger pics, but I felt this one may have needed a bit larger presentation with all the cool details. However, the compression on the bigger one may still be crippling the overall effect.

Canon 5Dmk2, 75-300 L.

Jim, great color and comp but that's something we are used to around here. Not much else to say.

Cool aspen image, JG. Like the lines and the bare trunks with the color. A little blue in the trunks?? Well done.

Really nice diagonal lines and excellent cool colors making the aspen glow just like they do in the shade. Very well done, Jimmy!

Wonderful color Jimmy. The aspens look like yellow flames.

A great fall scenic, Jimmy! I believe that you have appropriately titled the image.
The colors are great, plus you have great detail. It's really special that you found
an Aspen scenic where the groves are growing diagonally. I have no suggestions
for changes or ways to improve the image.

Wonderfull fall scene, Jimmy. I really like the diagonal lines in this and the color of the aspens, just beautiful! Top left corner bothers me a little (kind of wish for more color there too) but still a scene I enjoy very much. Not really sure what you could have done about that anyways. Very nice work. :toast:

Beautiful aspen scenic Jimmy. I really like the semi-intimate landscape you've crafted here. Great lines and flow to this comp.

Home run Jimmy! The large section in the upper left devoid of aspen seems a little blank compared to the rest of the image - maybe crop a little off? Otherwise, another fantastic shot. Like the subtle cool blue of the trunks. :toast:

This is fantastic, Jimmy. The interplay of vertical and diagonal lines is superb; you isolated your composition from this mountainside perfectly. The slight touch of blue of the trunks is just right. A stunning image in my opinion.

Wow. This one looks so simple as a thumbnail, and just gets jaw dropping as it moves to the largest size. Masterful Jimmy.
