I shot this on Owl Creek Pass in the San Juans the morning after a big fall storm came through leaving a heavey blanket of snow.

This is just very well done, Michael. From comp to exposure to color.

Hi Michael, this is wonderful; the fallen leaves in the foreground really make this image. Pictures that capture that fleeting, liminal period when autumn blends into winter are special. Have you thought of cropping of the top, just enough so that the sky is no longer visible? That way you still get enough of the trees to define the context of your photo while, at the same time, making more of the focus to be on the stream and the snowy/leafy foreground.

Morris, thank you for the encouraging words, it's nice to know that every once in a while I get one right. Nancy, I haven't given that a thought, but I'll try it to see how it looks.

Terrific composition with the fallen leaves in the foreground and the stream leading into the distance. It's a beautiful shot. My one minor nit is how dark blue the sky is, a little too much polarizer, but Nancy's suggestion would fix that or you could back off on the blue saturation.
