Some images need chance to come to life, others need persistence, others patience. For what you see here, I had to wait three years, but my wish came true last weekend. It's impossible to describe the amazing moments I had the privilege to witness and I'm glad as well as I'm sad that I was there by myself. And the image is only a timid attempt to share with you the magic of the moment. I shot this in one of my favorite places in Romania, Ceahlau National Park. These rock towers adorned with larch trees facing the tough weather are somehow unique for my country. There is a distinctive lighting of the scene from left to right and that's because a fleeting diffused ray of light was playing across the land. But it's the element that makes it for me. I hope you like it and may you have a wonderful autumn!

The sidelighting is great and the trees give a sense of just how tall these spires are. And your perspective shows a view that not many may get to see. Excellent work, Dorin!

Nice job, Dorin. It is difficult to find this type of mountains in North America.

Delicate and beautiful Dorin. Really a masterpiece of light and space. Like a Chinese landscape painting.

Dorin, this is my favorite of your images posted on NPN. The mighty rocks contrasted by the subtle light on the trees makes it outstanding to me. Lighting conditions in the background are unique and underline the atmosphere wonderfully in my opinion.

Everything works wonderfully for me Dorin. Light, subject, and composition. Your 3 year wait was very worth it! This is simply magical! Looks like a scene from China, not Europe. Very much like a Chinese landscape painting.

To see this in person must have been an awesome experience! Wonderful work! :toast: :toast:

This is magical to say the least! The light puts a beautiful, exquisite glow on the landscape. The 3 year wait was well worth it Dorin. Although you say it was sad to witness this by yourself you have been able to capture the moment and share it. Well done and congrats on an awesome image.

It's hard to add to what has already been said...to me, this shows your strong connection to this place, as you have revealed something of the spirit of this land - in this light and ethereal mood...beautifully done.
