This is one of my favorite sunrise spots, since it is a couple of miles from my house. I've gotten so many sun pictures by now that I no longer am enthusiastic about sunrise shots unless I just happen to wake up early. I was glad I got this one, though.

I originally shot this in RAW format by mistake and had to convert it to jpeg, so that's why it's so grainy.

Well composed. Perfect subtle colors. I kind of like the grainy effect,

Beautiful sky colors, and very peaceful. The graininess is a bit bothersome, but not horribly so. It looks pretty soft overall though, I would definitely resharpen. I don't understand the RAW to jpeg graininess comment though; that shouldn't add any graininess to the image at all.

Very peaceful scene. The graininess bothers me a bit. I don't understand the RAW to Jpeg conversion comment.....normaly that shouldn't add any graininess

Well, the image was grainy in RAW format--I don't know why, either. I thought that RAW might be as good as other formats like medium-fine, but I was mistaken. Maybe I got it confused with something else. In any case, I won't be shooting in that mode ever again.

Shirley - shooting in RAW format wouldn't have caused the graininess. In fact, shooting in RAW gives you SO MANY more control options than shooting JPEGs. I know a few would disagree, but I would never think about shooting landscapes in any format other than RAW. I suspect the VAST majority of photogs would agree with me.

In that case, I don't have a clue about what happened on this one.
