Hi all,
This is my first post here on NPN. I've been an observer for some time as I've been on the steep side of the learning curve for 2+ years now. I regard this site as possibly the best there is for critique and respect the opinions of so many of you out there!
So, without further introduction;
"From Within" - Triple Falls, Glacier N.P.
So many of the photos I've seen from here are taken from the top, I wanted to try something different (still took the shot from above, of course

).
4 exposure manual blend - By far the most challenging blend to date...
C&C welcome and appreciated.
Shawn

excellent processing,
Thanks for posting
I would be interested in your meta data...
@Dean - graininess, not sure about that as I've been over this image from head to toe in PS - probably just the .jpg conversion. Thanks for the input!
@Tom - the falls shot is 8sec, f16, ISO100 @35mm; then 1 stop darker increments towards the top edge of the falls to blend with the sky @ 1/4 second.
Thanks again!
Shawn
Regards,
Carol
I was there a month ago and wanted to get almost the same perspective but ran out of time.
The blend looks really good and not too forced, so kudos on that.
I'd only say that, perhaps like Carol, I think the left and right edges are a little too bright, with the highlights popping out a bit too much. Take those down a bit and I think the viewer's eye will be directed into the image a bit more. Just a bit would help, I think.
Really nice, though.
I'm new here as well and this is my first critique. The thumb nail grabbed by attantion and I think you have a simple yet dramatic image and you did a nice blending job. I also love the angle of view, putting the viewer right at the base of the falls. My only suggestion is to try to use a different shutter speed to try and get some detail in the water. I've had success with about 1/4 of a second (a suggestion from Marc Adamus). The shutter speed could vary based on the available light.
I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Tony - website is on the way, thanks for the push!

I am looking forward to seeing more of your work here on NPN.
This is certainly a unique perspective on the falls. I like the soft flow of the water coupled with the hard angular shapes of the racks. Great job on the blend as well. Oh, and welcome to NPN and I hope to see more of your work soon.
Welcome to NPN
