Eucalyptus Tree.

I found the patterns and colors on this tree the other day while heading out for a UCSD Soccer shoot. While the colors were subtle at the time, I knew that with some help, they could pop a bit. Maybe a bit overboard, but I thought I'd try.

Canon 5Dm2, 90mm TS-E, two shot stitch and generous TK actions

Not overboard Jimmy, nice colors, textures, and patterns. Eucalyptus I presume?

Nice stitching and useage of that 90 TS-E. I think this is great: comp, color, texture. Do I detect a bit of TK sat painting? :toast:

I thought maybe that I was going to see a southwest sandstone image but this is something different entirely. Great colors and texture. Did you have much trouble with DOF being that the tree trunk is "cylindircal"?

Cool looking photograph. I like the abstract feel of it.

Youssef...I didn't have much trouble with the dof, as it was a rather large tree and this is pretty tight shot of the middle of the trunk. I'll have to look closer at the raw to see if there is a big difference in sharpness... if any.

YES! This is really nice, Jimmy. Maybe the best Eucalyptus ever.

Wow, looks fascinating. The composition is very strong and the colors go very well together. Initially I thought this was some rugged rock, illuminated by flat warm light.

A great abstract, Jimmy! I can't believe you were able to coax that much color contrast out of a single tree trunk! Nicely done!

You coming to Colorado again this year? If so, I know you will be taking it a little slower. Hope to see you in the field. :wavey:

Love this close-up Jimmy. Nice work as usual. I need to photograph these someday. I can imagine the endless abstracts and fun to be had with these.

While not sure what the original colors were, you have brought out the best with your artistic processing. Beautiful abstract for me, not that I really care what the actual colors were. :toast:
