Smoky Mountains

I managed to escape the crowds in the busy park and find some wonderful areas to photograph. This shot was taken very early morning and little light was coming through the canopy yet.

Canon 7D, 1/2sec, f/9, ISO 640, RAW conversion.

Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

Nice scene. Good exposure, contrast and color. That foreground element on the left, sort of wish it didn't bleed off the frame.

John,

I think this is a lovely scene and very surprised it hasn't received more comments. Like Tony, I think the exposure and shutter speed is perfect for this scene; allowing for nice water motion, yet retaining texture in the water too. Very well done.

I also agree with him about the small round pool hitting the frame edge. It's a very interesting and important element which I think is why it's getting the attention. I think maybe if you selectively worked on that little pool - like if you could add a polarizing effect after the fact. Maybe slightly darkening, adding contrast or something to reduce the glare effect off the surface and reduce it's impact as an eye magnet then perhaps the frame edge thing wouldn't matter. Interesting how I'm focusing on that and I haven't really mentioned the main falls? (other than shutter speed.) Overall, a somewhat static comp, but a pleasing one. I like the inclusion of the bg forest and rocks for reference too. I like this quite a lot.
