John: GREAT teasel shot. Love the comp and the detail you got out of the stack and the colors. One small point you might check; the BG in the triangle formed by the middle and right stems is not quite black. When I run the cursor over that section it shows about 25 units of red. Your penalty for this faux pas is to send me a corrected 16x20. I'll get my own frame. Beautiful work. >=))>

I can see why it's a favorite John. This is a very fine image for my tastes. Exceptional detail, strong comp, unobtrusive light and with the minor exception that Bill noted a complementary supporting bg. Gorgeous work.

I like every thing about this image. The colors really stand out from the background. The only nit is the already mentioned area that is not quite black.

Thanks all.
Bill -thanks for that. I,ve realised what it was . There was a small area of light reflecting off the black cloth which I tried to darken- obviously not very well. There are also one or two bits on the right too which are not pure. I am slightly red /green colour blind and interestingly I can't see any difference until I use the dropper. Must try it more often.
Cheers

Outstanding! Great color and the black background really makes them pop. Excellent detail as well. And your comp is perfect.
