Maine Birches
by scott lanz
Now that Bill has formally kicked of the Flora trees theme, I thought I'd take a break from Cranesbill Geraniums and post one of my personal favorite tree images. Taken a number of years ago (on film) in Grafton Notch S.P., Maine. Compression hurting this one - saved at 70.

Well done, hard to get trunks, especially groups right. Added spice due to the understory and the bright colors. Well seen and done.

Take care.

This is just fabulous. One of the most beautiful tree trunk and flower images I have seen. The white of the trunk provides nice contrast to the green and red.
Beautiful.

Bob et al: Pat and I were aware of the posting time but felt that there were some extenuating circumstances. This was a theme week and as Scott noted in his post narrative I had kicked off the theme earlier in the evening. I'll often do that to remind folks of the upcoming week. Since this image was the number one choice of us both we did not feel Scott should be penalized for posting an hour and 25 minutes early. We petitioned Jim for an exception and he agreed. . .Bill
Congrats on the WP!
