The view of Hood from the North is my favorite. Cloudy dreary day, but good cloud action.
Canon 20D, EOS 17-40 f4.0L, Polarizer, Tiffen 2 stop soft ND.
B&W conversion in Lightroom + curves for increased contrast.

Great looking clouds, very dreamy. Love the detail of the larger image. Very nice B&W.

Very moody - great clouds and I also like the north view best.

A very strong b&w, Daniel. The interesting cloud formations make this quite intriguing, and I like your classic comp. I do find the blurred reflections a little dizzying though, but I'm enjoying exploring along the tree line where the light is sweet. There's a small dust spot on the UL cloud.. easy fixed. Nice shot.

Daniel,

Quite a beautiful "reflectionscape" and a classic image. While I think the b&w is very powerful here, I'm also wondering about the color. I see the nice light on the mountain and at least for that part of it, seems to get a little lost in this version. Not a big deal, but I guess I'm just wishing for that warm light striking the snowy mountain - oh, and then to see it reflected, with the blues or whatever colors are reflected in the water as well. But alas, I can settle for a well done b&w...

Daniel, What a nice capture and monochrome conversion. There is so much to love about this image from the strong and simple composition to the excellent sky and light. Great Job:)

Lovely b&w you got here! The comp looks spot on. But I think the reflection is a bit too bright. Darkening the foreground would give more emphasis on the actually mountain.

Lon, thanks for your thoughts. This image pretty much screamed to be B&W. The original was monochrome blue and white with green trees - for all the interesting cloud shapes, pretty boring even with the contrast boosted a bit. When I applied a red filter in B&W conversion - then this one had something to say to me.
