How in the World?

I was kayaking a pretty secluded part of the Flint River when I came across this abandon boat. Kayaking was tough at time, laying down to go under fallen trees, portaging over log jams and dragging bottom in shallow rocky water at times. So coming around the bend and seeing this boat in the middle of nowhere really made me wonder. How in the world did it get here, or what kind of flood must have happen to bring it here? Non the less, some one lost a boat and left it on our river in the middle of our woods for anyone passing thru to see.

Canon G12, Program Priority, 1/100 sec, F/3.5, ISO 100

Oh, for what it's worth I wouldn't have given up the ducking trees, portaging log jams and skipping over a few (hundred) rocks for anything.

Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

I really like the juxtaposition of your bow in the foreground with the wrecked boat on the logjam. Obviously that boat wasn't as good as you were about "ducking" the logs!

Like the perspective with the front of your kayak there, it puts one right in the drivers seat.
Interesting shot, sounds like ya had a great time :wavey:
