A Golden eagle poses in the Scottish heather (I just love this guys pose, so proud!). This is a captive subject from a falconer, which provided me with the chance to get a close-up portrait of this beautiful animal. I reprocessed this image today, and while I wasn't sure about the oof heather at first now I think I like it, but I'd love to hear you opinions!

Thank you for looking, and don't forget to view large!

I like it very much, for me the most interesting is the composition how eagle looking out of the frame..... In larger view (maybe it is just my PC...) is visible slightly aura around the body, but I could be wrong !!! Other that a-mazing shot! :wavey:

The color really pops (I'm actually debating whether it's too red on my screen), but my favorite part is the detail in the eye. One thing I wouldn't have minded was a bit more grass in the foreground, which would provide a bit more of a natural border. No idea if you cropped that out or if that's the bottom of the original frame.

Regardless, it's a very dynamic portrait.

Wow, there's some detail in the eye. At first glance, I thought it looked "crunchy" (bit oversharpened), but when you look at it, it's really just all that detail in the eye.

The heather doesn't bother me, Jorne. That eye is awesome, as is the pose.

I also like Heather Locklear, but I'd prefer to see her more prominently.

Seriously, it looks good. The crop works because the wings are not cut. I do wish there was more space on the right and less on the left. I also agree that there is a noticeable halo around the bird.
