Lovely bird and very well captured Ray! I like the way the Oystercatcher is positioned in his enviroment, and his red/orange beak contrasts nicely with the green grasses around him. Good shot! :toast:

I thing you manage shot with the good taste, I would go probably harder on contrast and the stem of grass I would maybe erase, but it is just me, anyway you posted strong photo, thank you for sharing...... :wavey:

Hi Ray,
I like the open beak and you made a nice exposure in what looks like bright lighting. I'd like to see the bird a little more off center so if you have more room in the original on the left I would add that and crop some from the right. :toast:

Thanks Nate I hadn't considered that and I do like it better with a bit more on the left. Appreciate the suggestions. Verdon I increased the contrast a little also, thanks.

Nice image and I like the included habitat. A bit centered for me though.

Ray, nice DOF for this image. In the larger image there is lots of detail that can be seen in the feathers. That open mouth is terrific!

I think the repost works better Ray, although a case could be made for either.
You handled the bright light nicely with a well managed exposure too..
I especially like the open beak/mid-stride pose, and that yellow/orange eye/beak combo :toast:
