I was out shooting along the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Smokey Mountains with Harold Ross Monday and he spotted these on the side of the road. This was a first for me -- I've not seen them before. It's similar to the Hairy Clematis I shot in Yellowstone several years ago.

These were right on the side of the road. Every time a car would go by the wind would start these flowers dancing and I'd have to wait and hope they calmed down before the next car went by.

Canon 7D, Canon 100mm Macro, f/4, 1/6 sec.

Richard, Colors and shape are striking - love those curls as well. Beautiful photo  with the balance just about right.

I like the color palette Richard but it's the composition that really appeals to me here. I particularly like the two diagonal in the main composition but the dof still works well for the bg. Very fine work.

Beautiful composition! The colors just pop, the detail is wonderful and the hues complement each other perfectly. Really nice.

Great find on the drive. Looks like there was enough time between cars. Nice and sharp. Great curls and comp.

Great find this Richard & very well composed as well
The colors & details are striking
One suggestion i've is the about cloning the 4th bloom in the extreme ULC & just leaving 1 OOF bloom & does creating a traingle to create more tension in the image

Great execution with this photo! Only comment would be to experiment with warming up the background a bit but that's just personal preference! (most of my clients prefer warmer tones if possible) I really like this shot!!!!
