Painted Sugar

I caught this Indian Paintbrush this morning. The hairs on the petal's edges seem to be covered with sugar, so that's how I came up with the name.

I've included a large version to show the hairs better.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

5d, 50mm macro, 24mm extension tube, 2x tele-extender.

Morris, this is awesomely cool! Love the sharp details you got where you wanted, and the overall softness elsewhere. Really cool comp as well. Paintbrush is one of my faves! (Although I think anymore, ALL wildflowers seem to be my faves  )

Morris: Paintbrush rank second only to bluebonnets for this Texas boy so you get bonus points already. For me this is about the colors and fine details so I would be inclined to crop quite a bit of the BG, perhaps to 6:7. Then I think I would hang it on my wall. >=))>

Reminds me of Candies with a dusting of sugar. Well seen and another vote for Bill's crop suggestion. Show us some Blue Bonnets/Lupines now.

This is just beyond sweet Morris. Your POF/DOF makes this just pop. Superb.

Lovely, flame-like blooms beautifully caught, Morris, with the sharpness in all the right places. Lip-lickingly good !
