I found some autumn berries to go with the flowers I found along the road in Sept 2010. My brother's shiny car made an excellant surface to shoot on.

Shirley:
Welcome to NPN and flora.
A very colorful composition with the berries, leaves and yellow flower and creative use of a car!
The focus seems to be sharper on the reflection and a little soft on the subject themselves. You may also like to crop this tighter, removing some of the negative space at the top and the viewer's right. Your logo overlapping the image is a little confusing just under the purple berry reflection.
Overall, an engaging image and look forward to seeing more.

The original was sharper looking, but I had to reduce the quality to the point where it blurred a little. I frame some of my shots and kept the extra space because an 11x14 poster gets cut at both of the short sides and I want my entire shot in a frame, uncut. There is a method to the madness. Thanks for the input, though. Maybe cropping a copy of a shot will help in reducing the quality so I won't have to change the number of pixels so much.

Beautiful color and interesting textures and subjects Shirley. I agree with Gary's comments pretty much in their entirety but I particularly think that moving your name to either corner and away from the subject would let folks focus just on the subject and enjoy it more. With regard to the space, the great thing about a black background is that you can "add canvas" in photoshop very easily and that means you can position the subject anywhere on the canvas you like very easily. In this for instance, you could add canvas to the left and then crop on all sides to preserve your 11x14 aspect ratio, if you wanted.
Welcome to the gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your images.

Believe me, if I could figure out how to move that watermark around in Capture NX, I would. I have a smaller one or two or three and the only way I know to solve the size problem is to just rewatermark the whole folder...which I might do. I have large ones on there for videos, mainly...and posting on Facebook.

Welcome to NPN Shirley, and a fine first post. I love the reflective look and the variety of subjects you've chosen to incorporate.
I think a tighter shot without all the black might be a slightly more engaging shot, but this is nice regardless.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Since there's a quantity/time span limit on the galleries, I'll be putting the other shots in my portfolio. Well, some of 'em anyway.

Cool image Shirley. Nice move using the shiny paint job to your advantage, very creative thinking. I might lose the leaf on the left and clone out the shinier spots within the cluster but those are minor issues. Very nice as presented.
