Mornings Call

Now that the Tulip season is over, I wanted to post one more. . . a favorite of this springs blooms. I shot this red tulip at the local festival at the end of last month and early in the morning. I really like how the reds and yellows show against the dark BG and limited light. The few dew drops are an added bonus.
I've been enjoying all the wonderful postings in the best Floral
Gallery on Earth. Now that the birds are back and in breeding plumage it's tough making the decision "Flowers or Birds!"

Larger version available, thanks for looking!

Striking, velvety color Craig but it's the composition that impresses me most with this. Love the dof decision that created it. Superb...

Craig:
Love this comp. Full of energy from the luscious red. The echo in the bg is nicely done too.

Dragonflies are stirring and like you I am torn between bugs or flowers - luckily bugs like flowers and so I get to shoot them together sometimes (double the fun). :jump:

Craig: Superb lighting and colors and a perfect exposure. I would hate to see your photography go to the birds so you better keep that big lens pointed at the ground some. Beautiful image.>=))>
