Peach Blossom Special #1

by Bob Duff

Gallery: FloraPosted May 22, 201170 views10 comments
My peach tree is loaded with blossoms this year and they were screaming to have their portraits taken. So I had to oblige.

This image was processed with a couple of blended colour washes and selective TK dodge burn action.

The color is gorgeous Bob. I also like the watercolor like processing. I'm having trouble deciding that I like the dof decision but it does work with the rest of the processing I think. The color in it is rich enough to make the image striking to me, regardless.

Very artistic rendition. Wonder whether the effect would be ruined if the pinks were not quite so electric. The mood would change to a much softer feel... not sure whether that is a good thing or not. (Thinking out loud... also not always a good thing)

Bob:
I like the watercolor processing here and the pink wash in the bg from the shallow DOF creates the mood for this image. The only minor nit is the partial bloom along the right edge - it is often so difficult to isolate these when they are in full bloom.

Bob: Looks like your tree is a target rich environment. Superbly crafted image here. I especially like your DOF choice. Well done.>=))>
