I took this one inside because the sun was so bright today and I played with it, alot. A mood was attempted rather than stark reality. I like the results and will enjoy and appreciate all critiques and comment.

Charlie,

For my tastes, this is gorgeous. Lush, rich color and engaging shapes and patterns against a perfect bg. I like it a lot.

Awesome, dramatic lighting on a beautiful subject. It is sharp yet has a soft feel. Like it just as presented.

Update. As I was scrolling down I noticed a few light spots in the black background that probably should be removed before printing. Upper portion.

Thanks all for responses. Fabio I didn't realize the difficulty I was going to have when I first started to try to bring some separation to these colors. Sounds like you have worked with similar colors before.

Patricia, Those are parts of the stem and separate buds and I thought about taking them out as it would have been so easy. Actually I felt like I wanted to enhance them with some similar cloned in oof BG but decided to just leave it as it worked out naturally. I think it is anybodies choice which is best.

Charlie: I might like this better with the light BG spots cloned away but it really works very well for me as is. Very well done.>=))>

I've taken those dumb spots out. They certainly don't add anything. Thanks all.

I like the softness, the rich color and the bg. I think you could probably get rid of the little spots of light/color in the bg but other than that, this is gorgeous. I'd say you were very successful in creating a mood in this presentation

Beautiful colouring, Charlie, and an excellent perspective on the flower. The repost definitely is better - though I did rather like the glimpse of what may be the stem over on the R. Fine image anyway.
