Door County Sunset

I've not been active on NPOM for quite awhile so I'm trying to make up for lost time. I find it really does help getting critiques on your own images. I've never posted on this gallery before, but this is a shot of a sunset in Door County, WI. I wanted to wait until the sun got down further on the horizon, but the rain was starting to come down harder and I had no rain gear for myself or the equipment. Since the sun was still so intense, I used the adirondack chairs to block some of it's brightness but on this shot, some direct light shot through. I was interested in the effect even though it's blown out in that area. Anyway, thanks for looking and any thoughts.

Excellent concept Mark and the sun star is an extra bonus. Only a minor nit, but I wish the two tall tress next to the chairs were not there and I know out of your control. BTW - Wonderful color in the sky as well and well to the M&N Gallery.

Very nice shot. I like the sun star through the chair and all of the color in the sky. My inclination would be to crop out two of the trees on the right. They're not adding anything to the framing. The trees beside the chairs give this a feeling of "looking out a window".

Beautiful color and silhouettes. The sunstar really adds to this image although it would still be nice without it. The serenity comes across quite effectively.

Wish I was setting there, Mark. Wonderful color and a nice feeling captured! I like the sunstar, and as Nancy commented it would work fine without too. Heading there in about a week!
