I suppose this is pushing the limits of the 25 percent rule for MN, but I feel this gallery gets little attention compared to the landscape gallery, and thought I might spice it up a bit.

Setup: 5dm2, 85 prime, Alien Bee Einstein v2 wireless about 10 feet to the right of the camera, powered using a vegabond mini lithium. IS0 640, f9, 1/200.

I hope to share some more man and nature strobe shots in the future (backpack and camping style!)...thinking about hauling a light and the battery up into the wilderness this summer, just need to figure out a way to rig it up to the gitzo carbon fiber. What's another 10 lbs when you're hauling a 60 lb pack already. ;]

Any thoughts on this image are appreciated.

Beautiful girl and setting. Very natural and pleasing to view. If possible I would suggest a lower perspective so that the horizon line isn't placed right at the neckline of the girl. :wavey:

Hi Nicolaus, I like this effort and share your pursuit of outdoor portraits. I have Zeus lights that I experiment with, I do backyard garden and a nearby park for the setting where I have access to power. A couple thoughts...I like your pov of her w/in the frame and turned towards the sunset and the larger space. I think you walk a fine line when the clothes include white...tough to avoid strong contrasts...I ask the folks to avoid black and white clothes. The b/g might be a bit brighter to avoid the dark band. Then you run into needing to use a ND Grad filter ...which further leads to need for a slightly higher perspective so that her head is below the line of the horizon...which I prefer anyway. Wish I could find a good vagabond battery pack.

I like the overall comp Nicolaus with the exception of having a lower POV as others have mentioned. I never used flash so no help there. Only oher thing that stands out is the abrupt dark center area in the background.

Lovrly. Agree with horizon and neckiline comments. Would like to see the woman a bit less scrunched to the left of the shot.
