Whiteoak Sink in the Great Smokies - taken 4/15/11.

Canon 5DII, 24mm TSE, F18, 1/15 sec.

The flox was all over the floor of Whiteoak Sink with many compositions. Thanks to Jerry Greer for showing me the Sink area.

Beautiful spring image. I like the inclusion of the three close up trillium in addition to the flox. :toast:

I am not sure why there aren't more comments on this one....It really is a beautiful shot. A refreshing spring time image with great color and depth of field.

I think the log really works in this composition, especially the way it disappears into the UL corner. The flox and yellow trillium and nice contrasting colors.

The sinks is a special place. I was there one week after you. I think you picked the best time.

The eastern spring is incredibly lovely. I like this, but the log seems a bit heavy in this comp of delicate flowers.

This is a very well composed, gorgeous shot. I usually struggle trying to find a close-to-the-ground composition like this that works, well done!

Excellent work Wick. I have been here many times and know full well how chaotic a location it is and difficult to get a clean image. You nailed it man!

Awesome image. The lush, fertile forest floor is why I love the Smokies so much and you have captured it wonderfully!
