On my way back home after a day of photo shooting two weeks ago, I arrived at this branch of the Danube at dusk. It is one of the core parts of the Danube Floodplains National Park in Lower Austria, near Regelsbrunn, that was first protected by a WWF project in 1989.

Hello Peter. I see that you have another moody, atmospheric landscape. This one reminds me a bit of your avatar. It looks like this area might be a riparian wonderland. The tree silhouettes look trimmed and appear to be a single species. This is generally a very peaceful image, but there is a straight line on the right perimeter at center that seems out of place.

I think RL put it pretty well. Love the soft colors and reflection. My personal preference would be for a square crop of the top right portion (1/3 of lhs, 1/5 of bottom)--to my eye that would be a better balance here.

I love the twilight atmosphere here. Beautiful subtle colors and reflection. :toast:

Robert, thanks for your comment, the straight line at the right isn`t an artifact. It derives from the trace of a trunk, that was washed ashore by high water a few weeks ago.

Peter, I like the extended depth that the ice and river give to this image. The soft colors really make this serene.

I'd love to see more of the details in the foreground. This looks like a neat spot! I like the reflected light in the water, and the neat soft glow on the foreground. I can't find a clear "point of interest" in the shot, so I'd love to see something that pulls my eye to a specific point. The image has a great sense of depth. Nice shot, Peter!
