Hello... I've been a long time fan of NPN and just recently became a member. I'm looking forward to participating in the forums and learning & sharing with everyone from this great site.

This is an of three moose I captured last summer here in northern Utah... I hope you enjoy viewing, and your comments are greatly appreciated.

7D @ 200mm

Thanks,
John

I really like the way both calfs are looking at you. Nice background. The only nit is the foreground I don't like too much, it looks like a path or something made by humans, I don't know maybe I'm wrong but I'd prefer something more natural, like grass, water,..but even with that I like the photo.

Good job in getting all three in focus and the detail looks good on the larger version. I also would be inclined to crop the bottom to just below the feet since that dirt mound draws my eyes to the dirt and then the moose. The vertical crop works well and I like the rest of the background. Welcome to NPN, very nice image, way to go.

Looks like moma moose has her eye on you! Nice grouping, I agree some of the FG could be removed. Thanks for sharing.

How can any thing as cute as those calves grow up to be as homely as their mom? Good capture and dof. The bright spot in the llc is a little distracting, I think, but a fine image. Welcome to NPN. Look forward to seeing more of your posts

Hi John, welcome to NPN :wavey: Those young moose look so cute! I love the low POV, combined with the vertical framing it makes these look very tall. The fact that all heads are turned in the same direction also helps the comp a lot. I do echo the comments made about the unnatural looking foreground and think cropping from the bottom would reduce its impact. Even better would have been to point the camera more up the time you pressed the shutter  .
I am looking forward to seeing more of your contributions in this gallery. :toast:

Really sweet family photo. Great detail on the moose. I like the warm colors of the earth they are standing on. I do wonder if perhaps a landscape format might better suit them and avoid the lighter toned tree trunk at the top which tends to catch my eye.

Nice image, John, and welcome to NPN! However, if this were mine, I would crop off a bit from the bottom and take a slice off on the left side of the frame as well. Also, there seems to be a little magenta cast, which can all be easily corrected, of course.
