The tree covered mountainside is beautifully framed by the rock and tree. I think I'd like to see a little more of the rock to the left or a little less of the bottom. The vertical crop isn't working as well for me as it usually does. That said, the uniform 'frosting' on the bg trees is magical. Nicely done

Richard, I like your idea of framing the background by a v-form! This might even be more pronounced by a more backlit exposure, which would darken the rock and tree in the foreground. The exposure of the slope works well, maybe the image could use some sharpening for web presentation.

I think the composition works well. My eye is repeatedly drawn to the sunlit ridge running diagonally up the distance mountain.

really nice shaft of light hitting the distand slope. The v shape window works well to channel the eye into the scene.

I like the framing on this one. It may just be me but I like the look when I scroll to crop out the sky. It gives it a little of an abstract feel and breaks the frame into three triangles.

I love the frosty trees in the backdrop, and I like the idea of the framing you did with the warmer toned rock and tree in the foreground but I find the contrasts too harsh.

Love it. I wasn't expecting this from the thumbnail. Not sure if this happened or is possible, but if the background was completely in shadow (blue) and that middle ground pine was sunlit this composition might have even more impact. Still love the creativity of this one as is though.
