Sunset Plover

From early June 2010

Nikon D300s 300 f4 + 1.7X TC HH crouched
f/8
1/1000s
ISO 800
-.67 EC

Cropped to 67%, cleaned up the water a bit, sharpened using smart sharpen and USM in CS5 on 27" iMac

- Luke

Edit: I use Google Chrome as my browser and this image looks very washed out - I checked it out on Safari and the colors look spot on. I processed this like I usually do so I'm not sure what's going on... if anyone has ideas let me know since I always use (and prefer) Chrome.

This is beautiful Luke. The light is wonderful, and I like the detail, especially being able to see detail in the eye. I also like the bit of OOF speckle in the foreground mud, and smoother water in the back half of image...it adds some nice depth. :toast:

After todays additional hit from winter something to make me think of summer. I really like the reflection under the plover. Very nice lighting and composition! Another winner! :toast:

sweet light, Luke. nice comp and detail, and I like the hints of ripples in the water behind the bird. this has really nice overall sense of peacefulness to it that I like a lot.

Love the warmth of the light from the setting sun. A beauty. I'll leave the tech types to help you with the browser question.

Beautiful light and colors, Luke. It all looks good on Firefox, so not sure what is up with Chrome.
