On a summer's morn

Here's another shot from last year of the Matterhorn region.
This one was taken on a summer morning before sunrise at Stellisee.
Actually I wanted to photograph the Matterhorn and its reflection in Stellisee but there was a "horrible" sculpture at the other end of the small lake....so I tried to hide that sculpture behind this big rock in the lake.

Pretty scene Bill. The hint of pastel in the sky is great. The polarization in the ULC is a bit distracting, but that's a pretty easy fix.

I was just about to type that that big rock was a bit disruptive to the flow but now I know why. The colour palette is very nice. The peak still stands out well and look good against that pre-dawn sky. I always hate suggesting a crop but you could shave off some of the top. Nice capture. Cheers

I do not remember having seen such a horizontal wide angle view from this place. And it works really well. The Matterhorn is a prominent enough peak , so it works well here despite its small size. I am not that bothered by the big rock in the lake. I also like the large version - the snow cover radiates nicely!

Looks a very idilic spot, the soft morning light certainly adds to the feeling of quiet Bill.

I actually got to go there once about 20 years ago! Wish I could go back now. I wasn'r aware of scenes like this then. I like this big wide view very much, but I can also see a pan crop off the bottom the has a nice dynamic too.

This has a very abstract quality to it thought it looks very real. I guess it's the extreme perspective that creates this.

Bill, nature photographers are used to have some tools with them, like a machete, to eliminate disturbing elements. I know this sculpture and would be glad to help you...maybe we need another equipment.
Being unaware of these circumstances, one could think you wanted to surprise with an unexpected point of view, as everybody is waiting for the reflexion of the Matterhorn; this way it is a great composition, convincing colors.

Wonderful composition with good detail. It looks like a nice peaceful place to take in the Matterhorn view, well done.
