Kangaroo Island, just south of Adelaide, Australia, is a great place to see kangaroos, sea lions, New Zealand fur seals, emus, and other exotic species. Also, a great place for lovely landscapes.
Species: Red kangaroo
Location: Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, South Australia
Date: Aug, 2008
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 100-400 at 400
Specs: ISO 400, f6.3

Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques.

What a wonderful interaction you captured here! The mother (I presume?) really looks to be enjoying the attention she's getting from the joey: a nice reversal of roles. The wet fur adds even more interest to the image.

Tactile and expressive, I can almost say, "Ahhhhh!" for the comfort of the good scratchin'. Very cute look on the joey's face. Most excellent. And fun to see a species I don't often get a chance to.

Great interaction you caught here. Love the details in the youngster's face and the claws scratching the neck. :toast:

Hi Ajit,

I like this one! I agree with the previous comments but the thing I like the most is the "all business" look on the face of the joey - like it's determined to do whatever it is doing (scratching, picking off parasites?) well! This one put a smile on my face.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

Great interaction/detail captured, Ajit, I can 'feel' the wetness on their fur....

Outstanding capture, Ajit. The interaction we see here with the expressions on the faces and the wonderful detail is very appealing. :toast: :toast:
