Now why does this look familiar

Great capture! Really nice ocean action Randy! Excellent color as well! I guess it would be a personal preference whether to bring out more detail in the basalt sea stacks and foreground.

It was well worth running down the beach to get this shot

Fantastic, Randy! I really like this one - comp, light and color is awesome. If anything, maybe a bit more detail in the shadows

The water and sky is superb !
I'd also suggest trying to get more definition in the dark areas,
Sandy

Thanks for the comments, I am going for a darker feel to this scene but I will work it to see if I can bring out more detail from some really black rock.

James, it was worth the 'run' down the beach to capture this late light at this magical location - fun evening!

Hi Randy -

This is such a wonderful image! I love the pink tones from the sky that are reflected in the water. I like it dark, as I think it communicates the nature of this scene really well. The horizon does look to be a tilted a tiny bit.

Nice work and happy holidays. Hope you are doing well.

This is probably my favorite place on the coast. Makes me want to go back right now. You got a great sky and some nice wave action for this one.

I agree with Sarah and would also leave it dark. I prefer the mood it evokes. I also see plenty of subtle detail in the stacks on my monitor already and if it was brightened much more I think the basalt textures would take too much attention from the nice sky and ocean. A CCW crop might indeed be needed to straighten the horizon however. I also wish there was just a little bit more breathing room on the left side.

The splash of the waves is just perfect! I would like to see a bit more detail brought out of the shadows in the foreground (they may just be completely clipped I suppose) and maybe a little more contrast in the upper two-thirds of the photo. Otherwise this is an absolutely killer image!

Really nice lighting here. I might try to bring out the sun glinting on the foreground rock, add a bit of saturation in the clouds and like some others have mentioned bring out a bit more detail in lower right . Beautiful shot.

Randy,

This does look familiar for some reason... but you can be proud of this beautiful seascape from here. I don't think it's too dark in general. I love the pastels and I the composition is excellent.

the only suggestion I have is just an alternate crop. I'm wondering about cropping up from the bottom to remove the highlights in the LRC. Not a big deal though.
