Great Egret

Early morning sun provided a warming effect for this image.

The Glades were cold this morning. I know, not by the standards you northerners endure, but for us 30 degrees is nasty. The grass was frozen. Cold but sunny.

But...it's a wet cold! Like the image-the full wingspan. Wish the legs and feet were a little more visible. You might lighten the mid-tones some and be able to see the black legs better.

Great wingspread and pose, Wayne, and the light is wonderful. Your dof is perfect. :toast:

Wayne, I think the bird is exquisite and the light with the early morning sun is fabulous. I understand why you were probably using 5.6, but the background (in my opinion) is competing with the subject matter. Not a lot but I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to create a mask and perhaps do a Gaussian blur. What do you think?

Sweet light and a fine capture. Well done.

But I don't want any whining about the cold: it's -40 here this morning.
