Another first time photo for me, although I've seen them before.

Canon 50D, 400 5.6L, 1/1000, f6.3.

Nice shot of this female. Was it also at the hotel?

No, this was at Sagaro National Park (East) on Friday. Spent the whole day there.

Nice image. I like the red eye set against the gray feathers. I might consider cloning out the OOF foreground twig.

Great bird - one I've never seen. Nice pose, love the crest, and good perch/BG.

Excellent image Terry, no nits.
That red eye contrast is striking, even more so with the grays of the bird :toast:

Very nice Terry, congrats. The raised crest and red eye are striking. The profile is very similar to the Silky Flycatcher I'm familiar with from Costa Rica. :toast:

Your usual impeccable techs, but an especially nice composition, I think. For those who haven't tried photographing these silky flycatchers, it is quite difficult to tease detail out of the plumage. You've managed that very well here.

Nice one, Terry. You have great isolation from that lovely blue BG and as already mentioned, the detail is excellent.
