Inspiration In Ice...

...Not a permantent title. And I'm not cocky enough to suggest that any of you be inspired by my photography. It's just that I finally found a little inspiration and motivation in the icy conditions in middle Tennessee this morning (I've been in a terrible rut).

Finally, I got to dust off my camera (literally) and shoot some ice textures this morning. I'm new to this ice thing, being from South Florida and all, so any critiques and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Rick that is a great mix of colours you have. The patterns and details are awesome. I hope this gets you out of your rut. Well seem these can't be easy to compose and you have done a great job. Cheers

The background color is what raises this above most ice abstracts. Very nice, Rick

This is beautiful, and I agree that the background color makes it very special.

Wow, very nice! The green color is a refreshingly unique take on the more common blues we normally see- fitting for Florida!

I feels ya! About the rut. :wavey:
I really like this. I like the wash of color behind the ice and the wall to wall focus on the ice. NIce light and your comp brings an interesting variety of lines and patterns. Well done!

Very nice abstract image Rick. I really like the tiny details in the ice that are visible in the larger version. The greens beneath the ice are beautiful and work very well in this scene.
