Final resting place

I stumbled upon this Elk rack just laying out in the open by a Beaver Pond. I have found many Elk antlers in the past but this was the first skull with antlers. He must have been really old as Elk Island has no natural predators to take down a bull Elk. I was able to make many images of this fine rack with an approaching storm all the while listening to the migrating Sandhill Cranes passing by overhead. Thanks for looking.

Dramatic composition, Paul. Sounds like a great experience, too. My only minor nit is that I think it might look a little better with slightly more space on the bottom.

Nice capture, Paul. It really tells a story, and the dark skies add to the mood.

What a great fine and nice capture. The subdued colors and darkening sky help set the mood. I think I'd like it more if the skull/antlers were more prominent.

Sounds like a great time taking the photos. I like the effect the rack adds. Moving it a little farther from the edges would be fun to compare.
