Moody Blues

Yeah I know, lame title. Another from Acadia a few weeks ago, this from the famed sand beach at dawn. I was particularly drawn to the shape of the cloud and the reflected color in the wet sand. I wanted to simply the scene down to just these elements so I purposefully let the landform go into silhouette. Love to hear your thoughts, thanks.

Great overall mood. Composition-wise the ripples on the left might be a bit heavy, but that can just be me.

Really good work Kurt. I like you you managed to simplify the composition. Not so easy considering the rather big scale of the scene. The mood is really nice too.

The silhouetted land form works fine for me. I like the way the motion of the clouds somewhat mirrors the motions of the waves.

Wonderful execution of your planned image. I think the simplicity makes this very strong. :toast: My VERY minor nit is on the cloud in the orange area of the sky...I thought I had something on my monitor at first since there aren't many any other clouds in that area. Just an observation.

The little area of yellow and orange really gives life to the rest of the image that would be monochromatic otherwise. It would still be great that way, too, but that puts this at another level. :toast:

Love the soft cloud and the smooth sand beach in the foreground. The colors just enhance the whole thing. Well done with this one Kurt.

This works really well. My first thought was the shadow was a little too big for the frame, but I'm wrong. The simplicity of the rest of the frame incorporates this just fine.

Nice angles and colors at work here, Kurt, to make a seascape sunset dynamic yet peaceful and inspiring.

Beautiful Kurt. Love the tones in the sand and water and the silhouette of the point works very well. Has a real graphic appeal that is really nice.

Kurt - just beautiful!
Calm, serene, moody.
Nice colors and simplicity. The dark areas on the left might be a touch too dark..
