30 Seconds of Magic

While our time at Plitvice National Park, we weren't too lucky with the weather. In the mornings we often had fog or dense clouds that stopped the sunlight from showing its beauty. Throughout the days the light was very rare and we found ourselves always having to deal with the same situations.
For one little moment a hole in the sky let some sunrays pass through and luckily enough I just happened to have my tripod and camera in postition. After less than a minute everything was over and the light was back to "normal".

Canon 5DMII, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS, Hoya Polarizer.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I've uploaded a LARGER version too.

You managed to recognize the potential and capture that fleeting moment! I like how the beams come in at that angle different from the falls. A very good image from that place.

This looks like paradise Andreas. I to like the light beams counter the direction of the falls. Beautiful color as well.

Wow, looks like you found the Fountain of Youth! This is so nice - great colors and water action, and those beams are the icing on the cake.

Wow, what a piece of paradise! A magic moment very well captured Andreas. A sliver of room at the top would have been a minor improvement IMO. :toast:

Gorgeous use of the light rays and the colors are wonderful. I'd explore cropping out the water which doesn't add much in my opinion.

I would say this one image was worthy of the whole trip. Colors are terrific and the sun rays give the falls an ethereal look. Lovely image Andreas!

Wow, this is amazing! What incredible color and light. I think it would be even stronger, if that's even possible, to crop some of the water at the bottom. It seems to make the falls even more prominent. A glorious image, Andreas! :toast:

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not a fan on cropping away the water as I don't like square images and I really want to add this important part of the National Park.
Here's a slightly changed version of the image where I took out some of the blues in the water that I didn't like on a second glance.

Wow, this is nice, Andreas. Beautiful colors and light. Really paid off being ready when something happened. I like the foreground water in this, it is a beautiful color and adds a lot of the feeling to this for me. Only thing (as Vincent mention) maybe just a bit more room on top. May not have worked that way anyways, and great just as it is. Nice work, Andreas.

As I told you before, this is definitely one the best from Plitvice. The light is simply phenomenal and it changes the landscape in such ways that it takes the image so close to a painting. This is out of this world, Andreas! :toast:

The magic is key here, fantastic work Andreas. The sun rays are coming from behind the waterfall? I would fake or extend some so they don't look like they are coming from behind the fall unless there is a hole back there.

Thanks for the comments about the top. But up there the bushes and trees aren't thick enough and the very bright sky shines through all the time. This makes the are up there very busy and distrcting and that's why I didn't include it.

This is AWESOME!! probably my new fav of yours--one of the cooler waterfall shots ive ever seen. Great interaction between the light rays that cross at an angle to the lines of water. Terrific light on the leaves, both floating and on the trees. Great depth. This has it all! :toast: :toast:
