Still not much flying around here, so I took the op a few white birds gave me yesturday morning to try and get some different types of shots from what I already have in my files. I was going for an "in-flight profile" type shot here to maximize detail. Not that easy getting these big birds framed just right so no crop is needed. This is full-frame with no crop at all. Some will want more room in front, but I think this work when the "profile" type shot is considered given its purpose is to provide max detail of the subject. Thanks for looking.

The crop looks fine to me, Ron, and the detail is very attractive. The image seems a little uncomfortably strange though because the head looks welded to the body. :toast:

Great flight portrait Ron. Ditto Rob on the detail, and the BG transition from trees to sky provides very nice contrast. :toast:

Amazing to get this full frame in flight Ron. Nice exposure and your comp works well for me. It's nice to see this bird against a blue sky background without even a hint of a halo. Well done.

What a challenge, full frame, flight shot, dark backgroud, white bird and it still looks good. Way to go Ron, well done.

Ron: You certainly succeeded in your goal of an in-flight profile. Excellent exposure to hold all the detail in the whites. I like the composition. I don't feel a need for more room in front.

Very sharp and I love the tight crop. Maybe take a little more off the bottom.

I would be a happy camper to have taken this! The detail you sought is here in spades. I really like the comp too. :toast:
