Landing

I am 98% sure these are green-winged teal coming in for a landing at a nearby lake. If any of you experts can confirm the ID I would appreciate it. I like the way the landing gears and flaps are down as the birds come in and I like the varying poses and the spacing of the birds. There are a few things in the BG, stumps, logs, floating feathers, other birds etc., but they are all part of the natural BG and they are pretty out of focus and don't really bother me and I choose to clone out only dust spots.

This only about 25% per cent of FF.

Thanks for any comments.

The sequence of poses is great, and it's remarkable that you managed to have all subjects in focus. Excellent light. Personally, I would have cloned out the oof bird on the right.

Yep, green-wings. Your past post of the teal that I said were BWT, had a green-wing or two in it too. Tough to tell from head on shots, but these are clearly GWT.

Love the comp Robert as well as the hazy background. I'd be tempted to clone the oof duck on the right hand side and maybe the one below the wing of the lowest duck

cheers

Robert, I like the contrasting landing postures and don't mind the OOF background elements. I do wish the upper duck was "aiming" more to our left than it is.

Great action and I really like how all of the birds are sharp. Not an easy capture!

Cool shot Robert, the one bird going to the right gives this one a different feel - adds a bit of tension to the shot. I'd consider cloning out the oof bird which is on the right edge of the frame. :toast:

Looks good for such an extreme crop. I think that more dof to bring the upper ducks into better focus would be helpful. It depends on your vision for the photo thought I guess, the layering of the ducks is attractive in its own way as well.

Robert,

I like all the landing poses of the ducks and the soft blues in the background. I do wish there were a bit more room on the right side of the frame to give that top duck room to fly into.

Cool shot with all the different flyers in one, great focus on each of them Robert.. No easy task.
If it was mine I'd eliminate the out of focus bird RT side edge and extend that canvas a tad.
Well done :wavey:
