Ice Tarn

Another image from last week, taken in the Jefferson Park area of Oregon. It rained the day before, and I was pleased to find all sorts of interesting shapes and textures on the surface of the tarns that are scattered throughout the park. As a Southern California native, I find snow and ice very fascinating.

Thanks for your comments.

I just love shots of ice patterns, and this is no exception! Might work well in B&W too! :toast:

Excellent abstract Jason. The grass shoots add another dimension to an already fantastic ice pattern.

Great abstract patterns Jason, I really like the lower third the most here.

Jason,

The ice patterns are wonderful, but also the cool, metallic colors and tone really make this one work for me. I also really like the pieces of grass sticking up through the ice, but am a little torn about all the grasses at the bottom. I think perhaps it doesn't help with the small web version as everything gets visually compresses, so I'm thinking in a large version or in print it wouldn't be an issue.

Great find and nice job isolating and capturing this.

I really like crystal shapes for it's abstract quality. I'm wondering about burning the top down some as my eye seems to stray off there some.
