This is, my opinion, is one of the most beautiful lakes in the U.S. Sylvan Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We were there last April and as you can see there was still a little ice on the lake.

Hi Richard,
Great scene and very nice photo, I like the puffy clouds reflected in the still water.

Ahh, I have heard much of this lake but never been up to photograph it. Looks like a totally cool place to hang out at. Did you visit the spires while you were there?

Very nice Richard. The golden brown grass in the FG contrasts nicely with all the blue. Excellent sky too, but there are a few dust bunnies that need to be cloned out.

Nicolaus,
We were there to climb Harney Peak. There was still some snow on the trail and the wind was kind of stiff at the top, but all in all a nice cool day to hike.

Richard,

The clarity of the image and atmosphere is outstanding. It makes me feel like I'm there and breathing in all the clean mountain air! You've got a great scene captured here with a very wonderful sky. The only thing I'm on the fence about is the foreground old Tule's. I think it's one of those situations where I either want to see more of them (very nice, warm lighting) OR none at all. And that goes for the clump of grass on the right too. The bottom certainly doesn't kill the scene for me, just makes have to decide if the bottom helps or hurts the image - and I can't decide.

Love the color, contrast and reflection.

The color, light, and exposure here are all very pleasing to look at. It's not that easy to accomplish in the "daylight". It does look like a wonderul place too.

A very pretty picture, Richard. The blue sky with those nice white clouds reflected in the water look very nice. A place I'm thinking about going.

Great comp here Richard. I do think you can add some a little more luminance to the land and it's reflection

What a great mix of elements captured here. It has beautiful clouds, trees, rock, and calm water with a nice reflection. If I had any suggestion, it would be to shoot it from a slightly lower vantage point to include a bit more of that wonderful golden grasses a slightly less sky. Other than that, this more than works for me. Very nice!
