Hyalite Creek

Haven't shot much color this fall so I'll post a few from a couple years back. I know the creek shot and fall colors has been so overdone, but this is close to home and very accessible and popular with the locals. The leaves hanging down in the ULC are a little distracting but hopefully you can look past it.

Overdone? perhaps but it is such a great combination Dean, water movement and vibrant colour.

Overdone or not, these types of images are like a warm campfire this time of year. They just feel good. Nicely done.

So soft, warm and inviting. The ULC leaves are indeed a tad distracting, but easy enough to ignore. Good job.

Wonderful Dean. The autumn colors, the flowing stream, the rocks and moss, really make for a quiet, peaceful image. Yeah, I might try to lighten that branch in the ULC, just a bit so it blends into the other foliage, but other than that, this is superb. Wish I had one of these 'overdone' images in my files. Love it.

The leaves in the corner don't bother a bit. Really nice scene all together. I like the colors in the stream, and on the rocks equally as well as those bordering it.

A beautiful autumn image Dean. Your composition is especially nice with the centered rock and great lead in to the BG. Great color too, of course.

Nice spacing of the elements here Dean. I especially like the mossy rocks in the water. I'd clone out those two rocks in the LLC to clean up the view a bit. Also, if those leaves in the UL are bothering you - it looks like it'd be an easy clone job to blend that too. Excellent work!

A beautiful image, Dean. Your composition and presentation really transports in to the location. I love the high values in the rushing wather which serve as the perfect compliment to the fall foliage.

Marvelous light and color. I think the balance in exposure is one of it's strong points. :toast:

Just ast "there's no such thing as too much fun" there are good reasons why anything is popular, and this is another illustration of why we are all drawn to scenes like this. Nice colors and water that makes us feel good. Put them together in an appealing composition, and you can't lose. This is a winner. One of the things I like most is the clarity of the water at bottom center where you can see the stream substrate.

What a beautiful image top to bottom! I wouldn't have noticed the leaves in the ULC, if you hadn't mentioned them. A wonderful fall image!

holy wow, Dean! I just read about this trail in Montana Outdoors - there just aint no fall colors like this my way! :frown: Though the shutter speed may be too long for some, I think it's perfect and your comp and processing is spot on! :toast: :toast:
