Indian Saras Crane, the tallest flying bird in the world, at nest. The sliva coming out of beak is due to very hot weather, where she had to sit for minimum four hours before her mate arrived for the change of duty.
Thankyou so much for your kind attention & views!
Canon 7D: 500mm lens; stacked convertors; ISO 400; 1/250 sec.

An excellent habitat photo in what had to be harsh light. The one orange highlight near the TRC is a bit of an eye-grabber, easily subdued.

Awesome bird and image, must be killing to sit in those temperatures for hours upon hours.

It's making me thirsty just looking at this. Nicely composed Jagdeep. What we do for our offspring. Nice story.

Really nice look at the head and neck, impressive red on this bird. I would be interesting to see the full height of the bird if he/she were to head out in the open. I like the photo pretty much as you presented it, well done. I am sure she will have something to say to her mate when he finally shows up, yeah........

Thanks friends!
Gary, stay tuned to see full height photo.
Ron, this is not calling pose, poor thing is panting due to heat. Will post the calling pose too.
