The Stag

With the rut just around the corner I thought I'd upload this stag photo

I like the aggresive posture of this dominant stag. He was patrolling his harem of females and seeing off all takers.

Welcome to NPN!
It's a great photo to announce your arrival
.Stag looks very impressive, with great pose and eye contact. The leaves on the anteler add lot of interest to it. However I find it bit tight at the bottom and would like to see more room at the bottom for virtual legs.

Love the expression! It oozes testosterone IMHO. Very nicely done! :toast:

What an expression. Wonderfully framed against a "clean" background. Ideally it might have a tick more room at the bottom as mentioned, but that's a very minor thing. The focus of this is obviously that massive head, which came out great.

Very nice Lee  . The detail is excellent, the DOF perfect and the selective lighting on the head combined with that dark BG putts all the emphasis on the head. The leaf stuck on the antlers is a nice detail. Great work. :toast:

Very well done IMHO. Not being able to see more leg does not bother me. I like the composition of this image. Too bad you could not catch the sound with it!. Thanks for sharing.

Cracking image Lee and the very slight nit covered.

Great series of Osprey shots on your website, the one with the duck is superb.

Geat expression, right exposure and focus. I like the dark BG that gives threedimensionality to the image. Well done :wavey:

Nicely timed to get him yelling at you and you certainly captured some excellent detail. The grasses add a nice splash of color and the BG trees retain just a hint of detail. Well done.

The leaf on the antler makes this special IMO. Of coarse love the pose....maybe a touch tight on bottom, but nothing to drastic for me to loose interest in it. Great work!
