The black-backed jackal mates for life. Most of the time when you see one, the other is somewhere in sight as well. During the morning hunt they sometimes like to stop and play and tease...

At first I thought they were coyotes! I really like the light you have caught with the jackels. IMHO you could crop a bit tighter. Thanks for sharing.

Cool shot, and great light! I dont necessarily agree with cropping tighter, I like to see some of the environment, and I think you get a good shot at the animals faces as is.

I like the shot because of the unusual environment and the colours. The light was difficult to manage, especially for the backlight, but I think you did a good work! Maybe a little crop could be worthwhile.

I like the bright highlights in the grasses, gives me a sense of late summer days. THe centered comp also works because of the rounded green brush in the FG corners. I could see maybe taking a little off the top (just to the top of the OOF green clump above the right one's ear) as another option.

You've captured these two jackals in a beautiful setting and handled the exposure well. Lovely image.

Lovely interaction you have captured here Ingrid. A very difficult lighting situation for sure, but well handled. I agree a tighter crop would strengthen this.
