Very cute cub. I like the little red tongue sticking out. I am curious as to your reason for using such a slow SS and such a large DOF to get this image. Was this HH or tripod?

Sandy, this little one is just adorable! Love the tongue sticking out....gives him sort of a mischievious look! Also curious about the f/16....were you going for an animalscape?

Definately got the cute factor Sandy, your comp/crop is very good. The tongue sticking out and the bears colouring is great too.

Gary.

Way to go! I love his color and the tongue. The surroundings are pleasing. If this is cropped, I think I would prefer a tiny (very slight) shift of the cub to our right...and in a perfect world you could have been flat on you stomach in the sand to get a lower camera angle, but this is darned nice! :toast:

He's a cutie Sandy!!! Nice light and habitat too. I agree with Lon about the compostion, a little more room on the left might make for more pleasing photo.

I, too, am curious about the f16, Sandy. It looks like you were quite close to the cub; so, even the use of f16 has given you only a shallow dof - just look at the oof grasses behind the cub. Which means that even if you chose the narrowest of apertures, other bears 'in the frame at different distances' would have been rendered fuzzy. Lovely, cute expression on the cub, btw. :toast:
