Welcome Richard! :wavey:

Lucky! I hope you have great fun combining the freedom of retirement and photography. This is a fantastic start in this forum. Great comp, color. and light. There may be a dust bunny or two, and a bit of noise to work on (I'm not on the best monitor currently).

Great shot! YOu have definitely captured a beautiful scene here, and I like the comp and exposure a lot.

This is a spectacular shot. Great light and excellent job handling the high contrast conditions. Some minor points. I do wish that the top of the tree wasn't clipped. The exposure settings don't seem ideal : with a tripod you could have used a lower ISO and the f22 is overkill since you didn't need that much DOF.

The composition you chose is fantastic and the image has great atmosphere too. I'm wondering with the camera mounted on a tripod if you could have used a lower ISO?

The image is quite dark but I think there is just enough detail in the foreground to make this work because you can see the depth. Nice capture.

Very nice moody shot. I like how you used the foreground trees to frame the sun. Colors look great too. I'm jealous that you'll have extra time for photography.

Nice job with shooting into the sun, you controlled the light well. I really like the the shapes of the trees but agree that it would be nice if the foreground tree wasn't clipped at the top. Really nice, moody shot!
