Colorado Columbine

I'm just back from a trip to the South Park area of central Colorado. This columbine was clinging to a rock surface at waters edge on Mohawk Lake at an elevation of about 12,000 feet. The warm glow on the lower leaves was from sunrise light reflected off the mountains behind me.

Looks like the columbine are in full bloom. A nice capture and well controlled exposure for the white. Like the bark BG as well.

Beautiful environmental capture Wayne. Like how you have framed with the green leaves and the stark bark... Good exposure as well :toast:

Very nice light Wayne, and I especially like the way you framed the flower, good eye, and well done.

Wayne, a beautiful shot of one of my favorite flowers. I really like the framing created by the foliage, and the furled up bloom adds a soft touch of color. The bloom stands out well against that rock. Very well done!

Very nice capture Wayne. I like how the greenery seems to wrap around the one side of the flower, and the rock fill in the rest of the bg. Nice dof. Nice detail in the white of the blossom. :toast:
