This Einstein of the Gull world is waiting for his next big idea to hit. (Lamp - idea, get it?

)
I was about to start getting ready for work this morning, when I saw this Mew Gull (Larus canus) sit on the lamp. I went upstairs, grabbed my camera (it even had the right lens attached) and inched the balcony door open just enough I could take some shots. The Gull stayed long enough for me to take several nice photos, and even the AF was co-operating.
Reflected on the lamp dome is the meadow just beside where the Gull had probably been looking for food. If only his beak was tidy! I think that lamps like that create light pollution though, sending a big chunk of it needlessly upwards.
By the way, do you think it's useful to give the focal length also as an equivalent? After all, (probably) no-one can remember all the crop factors for different cameras.
Thank you for looking.

3 commentsI suppose it's Man and Nature and doesn't matter. Still, an appealing idea.

I think this is a neat image and that the lamp, although manmade, makes a neat perch.
Looking at the larger image I can see noise in the background that I would probably attempt to do some NR on. I like the pose of the gull and the eye contact. I don't think the messy bill is an issue. There is some blue/green fringing above the head of the gull, I would work on reducing that.
