Big Cypress
by Wayne Willison
Although the name Big Cypress denotes, "lots of cypress" as opposed to the size of the trees, this one is big in size.
As a side note for anyone thinking of shooting in the Everglades this summer, there are almost no mosquitoes. The water was too high for them to hatch or for the adults to drop eggs, or whatever they do with them. In any case its a real bonus this year to not have the millions of bugs.

4 commentsI love the color here as well as the warm, dappled light throughout. The larger version looks really nice, especially in showing great detail and texture in the base of the "big" Cypress tree.
The only minor issue I have is the barrel distortion where the cypress on the left and it's reflection are leaning quite a bit. And the big cypress also has a perceived lean, but I think that's mostly due to the slope of the trunk. Minor deal though.
And even though there's quite a bit going on and things to explore like the plants and things in the water and reflections, this is still a solid comp and an enjoyable image to view.
