From last summer. Canon 5D, 24-105 4.0L at 24mm. iso 100, f8.0, 1/10sec. B&W conversion with red filter. Larger is better.

I love that veil of a cloud falling across the mtn. what would you think of brightening the overall image slightly w/ a curves adj? just a thought.

Daniel,

I'm really liking the contrast created by the use of the red filter. Also like the sweeping nature of that great sky. Most of the interest for me though is with the mountain, reflection and the long stretch of cloud extending out from the mountain. The sky is great, but personally I think there's too much of it, given the drama and symmetry of the reflection. Would make for a beautiful horizontal of the bottom part of the image. Just my .02. Still, great job with the b&w - and nice to see some forethought about creating a b&w image and not just "converting" for the heck of it.

The extreme proportions work well to emphasize that expanding field of cirrus clouds.

I like the comp with the expanse of sky, but would suggest dodging the highlights in the trees, mountains, and upper half of the sky to bring out the tones more.

Great clouds! Just got back from three weeks near this area and never saw the mountain due to the heavy rains. Cleared up the day after we left for home !

I like the choice of b&w and think the high clouds and dramatic light make this image special.

Nice! I pretty much echo Lon's thought s here. It's a great sky, and I hate to say it, but I'd probably crop some off. It just looks too tall to me.
